Google has announced that it will establish a new Google Cloud region in Türkiye as part of a decade-long investment program worth $2 billion, marking one of the company’s largest digital commitments in the region. The announcement came during Google Cloud Day in Istanbul, where government officials, industry leaders and technology specialists gathered to discuss the country’s advancing digital needs.

The event highlighted the strategic partnership between Google and Turkcell, which will jointly build a world-class infrastructure intended to strengthen cloud innovation across Türkiye and neighboring markets. The project reflects a long-term commitment to support nationwide digitalization and expand the capacity of artificial intelligence applications.

Google Cloud Country Director Onder Guler said the new region would bring first-class cloud tools directly to institutions in Türkiye and help unlock faster, more secure and regulation-aligned digital operations. He noted that the partnership with Turkcell allows the two companies to "deliver higher speed, enhanced security and regulatory compliance" to enterprises seeking advanced cloud solutions.
